school update and some inspiration

I love a chandelier
a beautiful idea for an "adult goodie bag"
some colour to lighten the mood
all pics from here

it's been a little while since I did a school update, its a little tricky because I am not really doing anything visually or creative in this latest subject, it all about the construction of buildings and lots of attention to detail ( which is not my strong point) drawings......the first assignment was about roof linings and that was quite interesting for me as we are planning to change our roof at home. I got the results back from that and my first exam and I passed both, which was great! The lecturer taking this subject is very witty and she makes it quite enjoyable, she is an architect with lots of knowledge. We only have 4 weeks left of this subject, so that's another one done. I am really loving this course!!!!

relaxation room

I have been working on a relaxation/massage themed room for a friend of mine who is going into business. I plan to help her pull it together, but in the meantime here are the moodboards i have done for her to get an idea of what we want to create. I love the wall colour chosen here - it is Dulux Tranquil Retreat with Dulux Lexicon, very calming colours that will work perfectly in this room. My inspiration for this room comes from the Australian native plant - Kangarooo Paw!

tear sheets

please excuse the photos, the reflection is terrible - but here are few tear sheets I did for my mum on Mothers Day - we didn't get to spend the day together, so I thought I would send her some of the things I know she loves. She has started a look book too, if you haven't then maybe you should, it's a great way to unleash your creative flair and also establish your look/style.......what do you think my mums look is???

don't be afraid of the dark

look at these lovely dark walls in this dining room - too die for!!!! I love the size of this table, the different colour Eames chairs and the way the trim and ceiling have been painted white to contrast the dark walls - too me this room is heaven, I'm in love. This room is the latest work of Ilse Crawford, and the home is featured in the latest issue of Vogue Living Australia.

Fleur.....

today I am loving this florist in Armadale - a gorgeous shop with a white backdrop that lets the flowers shine. This shop is owned by talented floral designer Fleur McHarg. I have a real thing for great flower shops, I think its in my blood!!!!

well worth a visit if you are shopping along High street.

Pitella Knobs

I worked on a new kitchen recently where I recommended the clients use these beautiful Pitella knobs. They are quite expensive but have a real "French Provincial" feel to them which is exactly what the client was after. They work perfectly with off white and Caesar Stone - "Almond Rocca"

if you love the look of these knobs, but are not keen on the price tag, I did see a similar looking knob at Bunnings at a fraction of the price!!!!
