kitchen project

This morning I have been working on a kitchen, here are the before photos. We met the cabinet maker on site and discussed ways to optimise the bench space, increase cupboard space and just make the space far more user friendly, whilst giving it a nice new update. This space will be amazing when it is complete - because it's actually a large kitchen, but just currently designed poorly. The floor is the first thing to go, so tile hunting is on the agenda and then the kitchen will begin - how exciting!!!!

Goldchalk Update

Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks, sourcing lots of samples, color swatches and just playing with color for my latest projects. I have also been busy hunting and gathering specific items for different looks that I am trying to convey, whilst trying to get all the things going on in my head down onto some paper! wish me luck with that one. In this job a lot of time is spent researching, sourcing and co- ordinating samples. But I love this line of work and right now I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have also been working on and finishing assignments 1 and 2 for school. The subject is not at all as boring as I originally thought - in fact the teacher is so good, time flies in class. I am peeping on lots of building sites and taking photos of each stage of the building process, at times I feel like I am working for a story on "A Current Affair"!!!!!

and whilst all of this has been going on, I have still found some time to drool over this guy - OMG!! does he do some seriously good furniture and he is an Aussie, and he loves David Bromley too!!!

sneak peak.....

here is a sneak peak at my latest project. I am working on the exterior and interior of this house. The house has been guttered except for the front which has the most beautiful lead light windows. The owners of the house are the loveliest couple who have some very clear ideas about what they want but just need some help in getting there - this is a great project and I am very excited to be working on it for them.....more updates soon.

must see destination

Red Ramia Trading is a treasure trove of Oriental and Moroccan furnishings, decorations and artifacts. I was lucky enough to stumble across it on the weekend. It also has a fabulous eatery attached called Cafe Fez - not at all what I was expecting to find in the lovely Myrtleford, Victoria, but a fabulous find. It had lots of rooms of beautiful things, mainly wooden furniture and huge gates and doors, if you get a chance it really is worth a visit - it was the highlight of our stay....

school update

well, this week was a little better than last in terms of excitement levels. Building and Construction is not my idea of creative fun, but it is a requirement of the course and as such I must suck it up and just DO IT!

This week we bought our materials for the course and we are using proper drawing boards and pens and "inking" our drawings. No freehand allowed, only ruled lines and circle templates - gee, I hope I have the attention to detail for this!!! We are going to learn the ins and outs of house plans and follow each stage of the building process. We need to find a new a single story development and follow it from start to finish! I think I have found one in Plenty! I was going to use a construction from here, but they are currently building in Coburg and that's not that convenient to take photos from, is it!!!.

Assignment 1 due next week, guess what I am doing this weekend!!!!
